Who is FCS OnLine?
FCS OnLine is the trading name for Perceptive Communication Pty Ltd (54 098 185
427). FCS OnLine is a wholly owned Australian company specialising in providing
consumer and business information and directory services.
How often is the directory updated?
Telephone companies, or carriage service providers (like Telstra, Optus, AAPT
etc) update their telephone information on a daily basis to the IPND manager.
FCS OnLine gets a daily update of information from the IPND manager. FCS OnLine
in turns updates its directories on the day it receives the information from
the IPND manager
What do I do if my residential information
is incorrect?
If your phone listing contains errors, please contact your carriage service
provider to effect the necessary correction. Once this has been done we will
receive an update of your listing from the IPND manager, and effect the changes
in this directory. Please allow a few days between your notification and the
updating of this directory.
My residential number is silent; why is it
being displayed?
If you understand that you requested your carriage service provider to make
your number unlisted, or “silent”, but it is displayed on our directory, you
should immediately contact your carriage service provider to effect the
necessary correction. Please allow a few days between your notification and the
updating of this directory
What is the IPND?
The IPND is an industry-wide telephone service database
that contains information related to all listed public telephone numbers in
Australia. All carriage service providers must maintain and update their
telephone information on a daily basis with the IPND manager.
The IPND came into operation on 1 July 1998 and is maintained by Telstra as the
IPND manager.
The information held includes:
-
the telephone number itself
-
name of the consumer
-
address of the consumer
-
the purpose for which the telephone number is used (for example, government,
business, charitable or residential).
FCS OnLine is licensed to produce a public number directory. The IPND manager
will only supply listed entries to FCS OnLine. All Unlisted numbers are flagged
and not provided to FCS OnLine from the IPND manager.
Reverse search from (a) phone number (b)
address?
The FCS OnLine directory can only be searched by entering a name and any
address information you have. The surname and State are mandatory fields:
-
Phone number – This directory does not provide the functionality to enter a
phone number to return the name and or address of a consumer. This would be
contrary to the Telecommunication Act and the IPND code.
-
Address - This directory does not provide the functionality to enter an address
to return the name and or phone number of a consumer.
Is the directory case sensitive?
The directory is not case sensitive, so you can enter information in capitals
or not.
Do I have to enter a street type into the
Street name field?
No. This will only limit you search results as street typetypes (e.g. avenue,
lane, road, etc) vary considerably.
How many results are returned?
A maximum of 20 results are returned at any one time.
How do I contact FCS OnLine?
You need to visit our "Contact Us" section to ask any questions and, if
required, for us to give you feedback. Please note that you have to enter a
valid email address for us to answer your questions. (See contact us sheet
below FAQs).
“More than 20 records found, please
refine your search” ?
You need to enter more information into the selection boxes. Try entering a
suburb or postcode or entering initials in.
“No Results Found” ?
Check the spelling of the surname. Make sure you have not entered in a street
type. Make sure you are in the right directory (Residential or Business) If you
used a suburb make sure the spelling was correct. Try using a postcode instead
of a suburb. If you used an initial, try it with no initials entered
How do I update my Business or Government
listing?
To update your business or government listing in our directory you are required
to fill in a form that can be located here.
